Clinical Pilates is a system of
movement diagnosis and treatment.
Let us start by saying that the style of Pilates we practice is quite different to what you might get at your gym or anywhere where you do group classes. Clinical Pilates is completely individualised and is targeted at rehabilitating your injuries.
Clinical Pilates is a system of movement diagnosis and treatment. We do a detailed movement assessment to work out what your body likes and doesn’t like, and then translate that to an exercise program. The aim is to reduce your symptoms and increase your function with every exercise. These effects can last days or weeks, and eventually become long-term.
Clinical Pilates typically uses large pieces of spring-loaded equipment (that we have in the clinic), but it doesn’t have to. We can design exercises for you that involve no equipment and can be done anywhere. Whether we are using equipment or not, the wonderful thing about Clinical Pilates is that it can be completely tailored to the individual. So we can design exercises for all ages, all fitness levels, and all ability levels.
