Hydrotherapy, or ‘exercise in water’, can be either complementary or the main form of exercise for you.

There are many benefits of hydrotherapy:

  1. There is a reduction in gravity which alleviates load on your body
  2. The warmth of the water assists in pain relief and muscle relaxation
  3. Buoyancy can improve joint range of motion
  4. Water resistance helps to improve muscle strength
  5. Water pressure can help with swelling reduction
  6. Lastly, it’s a fun way to exercise!

Hydrotherapy is useful for:

  • People who like the water
  • Arthritis
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation (including joint replacement and spinal surgery)
  • Post traumatic injury (including car accidents and falls that result in injuries to multiple areas of the body)
  • A wide range of other conditions and injuries
